Factors That Determine Scoreboard Size
Viewing Angles
Vertical: The scoreboard must be large enough to allow comfortable viewing from the closest and farthest seats. A general rule is to keep the vertical viewing angle between 25 to 35 degrees.
Horizontal: Spectators should be able to view the entire scoreboard without turning their heads more than 30 to 40 degrees.
Distance to Farthest Seats: Text on the scoreboard should be legible from the farthest seats. This means for every 50 feet of viewing distance, the text height should increase by 1 inch.

This works out to approximately $995 to $1,159 per square foot.
Technology Costs: Higher-resolution LED panels are more expensive, so this would potentially reduce the overall size of the scoreboard on a tight budget.
